FED: Kirby bids farewell to High Court

High Court Justice MICHAEL KIRBY has been farewelled from the bench at a ceremony in Canberra.

Federal Attorney-General ROBERT MCCLELLAND's told Justice KIRBY he will hold a special
place in the history of the High Court because of the way he's carried an enormous workload
with devotion and integrity.

Justice KIRBY .. who will deliver his final judgments at 2.00pm (AEDT) .. will be replaced
tomorrow by Justice VIRGINIA BELL from the NSW Supreme Court.
