Sandvine Incorporated today announced the opening of its European, Middle East and African (EMEA) headquarters and the establishment of Sandvine Limited in the UK.
The new subsidiary will serve as the cornerstone of Sandvine's European sales operation and enable the company to support demand from broadband service providers for Sandvine's range of peer-to-peer policy management and network-based subscription service products.
In addition, Sandvine EMEA will augment overall support capacity and enable local-area, 24/7 coverage for the company's growing base of global customers.
Helming the new subsidiary is managing director Chris Colman, a veteran network equipment marketer with more than 20 years experience in the EMEA operational theatre (see bio, attached).

Chris Colman, managing director, EMEA sales and business development, is responsible for establishing Sandvine's Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) division. In this capacity, Chris is aggressively building Sandvine's presence and focusing the company's strategy in this marketplace.
Chris comes to Sandvine from Cisco Systems, where he was responsible for developing European carrier and enterprise IP TV markets.
Previously Chris was managing director of PixStream Europe, where he founded and grew the EMEA market for video networking equipment. Prior to PixStream, Chris was director of strategic market development with Newbridge/West End Networks, where he developed global business for the company's telephony and data products for the cable industry.
Before joining West End, Chris worked for a variety of start-up data communications companies in the frame relay, ISDN, LAN switching and SNA internetworking arena. Originally with UK based GPT, Chris played an influential role in the early UK and international deployment of system x carrier office digital voice switching.
Chris graduated with a degree in electrical and telecommunications engineering from the Coventry University (UK). Chris has been working in the telecommunications industry for more than 20 years.
